![]() Gear is key - steal whatever you can if you've therion as a higher level party member, or Tressa if you've got some spare cash and/or don't have therion at a higher level. I feel like you’ve experienced everything worthwhile after finishing everyone’s chapter ones. The game is so perfect aesthetically, but fuck me do I hate just about every other thing about it. Combat is actually pretty simple and comes down to: almost break enemy, debuff enemy, buff yourself, break enemy, use strongest attacks. You get like 30 mins of story per character per chapter while the rest are fights, and it’s all completely unrelated and not even interesting. I feel like the majority of players will run into these same issues and just give up on the game because it’s so unnatural.Īll this effort, and the worse part is there’s practically no story throughout this. Nothing about playing this game is natural - it actively drives players away from doing things that are necessary even to early progression like the low steal rates and huge level jumps scaring you away from essential areas. I completed 5 characters chapter 4s and everyone else’s chapter 3s and just gave up. I hate it, I’ve never played a game with so little payoff. I gave it so much time to try and like it, for it to start clicking, for these things people say to do to pay off. I gave this game like 50 hours, my 4th most played Switch game or something. So you’ll carry them through the game until they eventually have some kind of solo battle where you can’t and you’ll get extremely frustrated and probably just drop the game. You’re probably going to end up with some characters severely under leveled because keeping all 8 characters at decent levels is an unreasonable ask. People say to steal items from NPCs, but that’s also a grind and probably not something most people will think to do right away when the good items have like a 1% success rate - most will think they’re better off waiting until they improve the skill and that rate increases. People say to ignore recommended levels and go into dungeons to get good items, which is all well and good until you get OHKO’d by regular enemies just a few levels above you. The secondary jobs help, but they won’t even get close to bridging that gap. ![]() ![]() Level gaps between chapters are absolutely enormous, you’ll go insane if you grind to make them up.
